Fishing!!

Our girls love fishing!! So we took them to Otter Creek and we had a blast.
Everyone caught a fish, so I think it was a success

Addi reeling in the first Catch of the day.

This was the fish Addi caught.  At first she didn't know what to think then she loved it

All of us girls.  I think I had the hardest time touching the fish.  The girls thought it was so great.

Cory is holding a Crawdad that was hooked on Kadence's line.

Parenting!!!

I'm reading the book "Christlike Parenting" by Dr. Glenn I. Latham.  I know its shocking that I am actually reading a book but desperate times call for desperate measures.  And that is what is going on right now.  I have been having some issues with my children, probably not any worse than most parents and their children.  The talking back, fighting, arguing, not minding and flat out attitude is really getting to me so I pulled out a book I bought awhile back and thought well Cory and I can't figure out what to do so we are calling on some help.  While reading I came across this quote.

"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed.  The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a HIGH degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are often more dull than otherwise.  Life is like an old-time rail journey.... Delays, side tracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas, and thrilling bursts of speed.  The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

This is an awesome book and has already help me deal with everything that is going on.  Sometimes it takes a slap in the face by a book to realize that maybe it's not only the children maybe it is the way we view ourselves and our lives that make the problems worse than they are. I recommend it to every parent.  Religious or not it is a book that will help everyone.

How does your Garden Grow?

Way to large for a first timer!!!!
I think we over did it for my first experience EVER with a garden.
We have
15 corn plants
12 lettuce
12 pea plants
8 green onions
10 Zucchini plans
10 straight squash plants
10 crookneck squash plants
10 cantaloupe plants
10 watermelon plants
8 asparagus plants
8 pumpkin plants
4 bell pepper plants

And now it is all starting to get ready to pick and I am WAY over whelmed.  But  I guess it is a really good experience for me and the girls.  I had no idea each plant grew so many vegetables.

Girls day out!

I had a whole week off of daycare so me and the girls did a fun girls day.  I took them get a pedicure!  I was upset when the place said they wouldn't do a full pedicure on the girls because they were to young but they would paint their toes.  So they got their toes painted and they were happy with that.

Toothless!!

Kadence has finally lost her first tooth. Then a couple days later her second.  Soon she will be totally toothless!

4th of July

The 4th was eventful this year.  We usually spend the 4th in Minersville with Cory's family but unfortunately this year Cory was on call for work so we couldn't leave Payson.  But we made the best of it.  We had our friends over pretty much all weekend.  Sunday we were altogether when Cory and Luke got called out for work.  They left around 3:30 and got back around 9:00.  We BBQ'd and took the kids for a ride in the Rhino then around 10:00pm they got called out again.  This was really upsetting because hardly ever do they get called out and then to get called 2 times in 1 day.  Cory got home around 4am.  It was a really long night and it messed up our actual 4th because we needed to let him sleep for a little bit.  Luke and his kids came over and we BBQ'd again did fireworks and celebrated a birthday all in one day.  What a 4th of July
