This girl loves her cookie dough!

I'm not quit Betty Crocker so my girls get to eat the pre made cookie dough that all I have to do is turn the oven on and put them in.  But Addison still has to eat whatever cookie dough she can get her hands on. 

Megans Report

Most of you who have kids in Elementary school probably know who Flat Stanley is, but those who don't it's a new concept that schools are using to help kids learn about geography and places around that world.  The School gives the student a Flat Stanley and a booklet of questions for them to ask the person they visit somewhere in the world.  Megan had to give a report on Flat Stanley.  So we sent him on a trip to visit Megans Grandma and Grandpa Miller in St. Cloud Florida.  They spent a couple of days with him and sent him back, and he told Megan all about is trip.  From our house to Grandma's house it is 2365.3 miles, they live on the biggest Cattle ranch in the U.S. its about 300,00 acres.  They went swimming in the swimming hole, he learned about the people there and lots of other things, and then she did a report on it.  It is a really cute idea and way for kids to learn about other places.  If you want more information a Flat Stanley trip go to www.flatstanley.com

She is Officially a Big girl now!

I think that potty training Addison was the longest adventure.  I started last summer when she wanted to go potty on the toilet and it has been a roller coaster to say the least.  But finally after months of ups and downs a few time outs and finally a couple of cold showers (yes I resorted to cold showers) she is Potty Trained even through the night.  It was very sad the first time I used a 3 second cold shower, but I think it only took 3 maybe 4 showers to get the point across and now no more.  She is so proud of her self every time she does go potty she comes and tells me "No shower, I'm a big girl!"  I love that she is getting so big but very sad at the same time.  She isn't my baby anymore.  But that is okay I guess I will let her grow up as long as it is very slow and we can have many more adventures together. 

Fun Weekend!

Over the weekend, we didn't have anywhere we had to go, or anything we had to do which is very rare for us.  So we took advantage of our big yard, our Rhino and some sleds.  It was a blast.  Cory and I pulled the girls around for a good 2 or 3 hours it was so much fun laughing and playing with the girls without to many tears.

Christmas!

Yes is happened again Santa found the Curtis Family!

I am pretty sure we all got what we wanted.

We all asked for a Wii 

Megan asked for the Fur Real Frenzie set.

Kadence wanted the Go Go walking dog.

and Addi wanted a Bouncing Baby.

and for everything else it was just a bonus.

It is so much fun having kids on Christmas.  They didn't wake up until 7:45 which is quit different from when I was little but it was great for Cory and I.  We opened presents played with all our toys, went down to Cory's grandparents house for lunch came home and went to bed. A pretty melo Christmas if you ask me but it was the best!

Christmas Eve!

We have a tradition at our house like most families that on Christmas Eve the kids open and present and it is always Pajamas!

This year we decided to add a new tradition of present opening for Christmas Eve. We want the girls to learn to appreciate what they get and who gave it to them.  So we let them open their presents from each other and it was so cute.  They opened them one at a time and in turn so we could all see what they got and they could thank the one they got it from.  They were so cute they kept telling each other how much they loved what they got and I even think I heard a THANK YOU! in there a couple of times. 

 

This was one of those things that I think we will keep in doing then the gifts that should mean the most the ones that they get from people who really care about them don't get lost and forgotten about on the day of complete caose that we all call Christmas. 

Snow Day!

When we were getting Cory ready and out the door for work Tuesday this is what we found.  20in. of snow and still coming down.  Cory starting shoveling and I started getting the girls up and ready for School.  Then around 8:00 we found out they canceled school for the day, something that hasn't happened because of snow up here in 30 years. They girls were so sad because it was their Christmas parties that day.  So our Christmas break started a day early. 

This is Addi the snow is up to her waist, and hits Megan and Kadence about at their knees. It is a lot of fun to play in but a pain to drive in.
